We are driven by a clear objective: to empower future leaders to promote a new model of sustainable development in Latin America where no one is left behind. We envision a continent where transitions reduce inequalities, diversify the productive matrix, generate quality jobs and strengthen democracy.

Lab's History

Latam Lab was born as a response to the breakdown in society that changed the rules of the game for the climate ecosystem. After years of climate action, we collided with a reality where what once worked to push for laws, install issues in public opinion and mobilize thousands of young people was no longer enough. The pandemic accelerated a profound transformation in the digital and political ecosystem: our voices were no longer heard, misinformation gained relevance and polarization weakened public dialogue. We saw the consequences of always speaking from fear: our speeches, designed to generate urgency, ended up generating apathy.

That is why we founded the Lab: to experiment with new ways of influencing, combining creativity and evidence, strategic communication and technical rigor. A space to encourage us to innovate, learn and share.

The Team

From Lab we promote a just transition in Latin America, focused on people and development, in the face of an absent model and a climate crisis perceived as distant.

Without clean energy, there is no future. Without reliable information, there is no way to imagine it.

We are living in a time of profound changes that are redefining the course of the world. At the Lab, we are working on two strategic transitions that we believe are key for Latin America:

• The energy transition, understood not only as an urgent response to the climate crisis, but also as an opportunity to redefine development, create decent work, strengthen local capacities and reduce inequalities.

• The digital transition, as an opportunity to strengthen democracy through responsible communication, combat disinformation and encourage citizen participation.

What is a fair transition

At Latam Lab we understand just transition as a transformation process that is not limited to changing productive matrices or incorporating new technologies, but rather seeks to expand people's real freedoms. We are convinced that the transition will be just if it improves people's daily lives, if it removes structural barriers such as poverty, inequality, lack of access to basic services, misinformation or political exclusion.

We are committed to transitions that do not reproduce privileges, but rather democratize power, provide opportunities and well-being to society and guarantee that no one is left out of the future that is being built.
