Observatory on Green Industrialization in Latin America
A space to research, cooperate, and take action on how Latin America can take advantage of the green window of opportunity to promote sustainable, inclusive development with climate justice.
Latin America has the opportunity to promote green industrialization that generates employment, reduces poverty, and accelerates climate action. To ensure that this transformation does not repeat the mistakes of extractivism or remain in the hands of a few, we need to include the voice of civil society in the design of fair industrial policies. The Observatory was created to bring together stakeholders, produce evidence, and turn socio-ecological industrialization into an engine of regional development.
From the Observatory, we want to connect think tanks throughout Latin America, promote green industrialization mainly among young leaders, and educate a large network of young people to promote these policies throughout the region.
Green industrialization must be achieved through regional cooperation and coordination with civil society.

We conduct research and take action to show how a just transition can create jobs, reduce poverty, and accelerate climate action in Latin America.
Latam Lab analyzed the national target for reducing CO₂ emissions from the energy sector by 2030, within the framework of Argentina's climate commitments. We contributed to the monitoring of key indicators, such as the target of not exceeding a total of 175.3 MtCO₂e, strengthening transparency and accountability on climate action at the national level.
Latam Lab is part of this initiative that seeks to raise awareness of the energy transition in Latin America, guarantee open access to data, and strengthen youth participation in decision-making. In addition to being an allied organization, we coordinate the Argentine chapter and co-created the Youth Hub for Energy Transition in Latin America together with Uno.Cinco and OLAGE.
